    Family headed to Pakistan

    in Photographs

Refugee train to Lahore. Judging from the blankets and winter clothing worn by the refugee family it seems that this photograph was taken around November-December of 1947. Train has "NWR" signage which means Northwest Railways. This was the main railway system serving Punjab and NWFP in pre-partition India.
